Resort Notes

We recently visited the resort and prepared a breakdown of what you need to know about the resort, from our perspective. We think you're gonna love this place as much as we did!

Getting There & Getting Around

  • You'll want to grab the Hyatt All-Inclusive app once you arrive. There's a QR code in your room, and it's your go-to for room service, restaurant hours, and all the essential info.
  • Good news: Wi-Fi is totally free throughout the resort.
  • Lomas Travel, the company Paradise Weddings uses, was on point for airport transfers. They were quick to pick us up in Mexico and even early for our return trip, which was a huge relief. No complaints there.

Resort Life & What to Expect

  • Just to be super clear: this is an all-inclusive resort. That means pretty much everything - your delicious food, drinks, and most activities - are covered. The main exceptions are spa treatments, any excursions you book, and special bottles of wine (if you're feeling fancy).
  • We brought cash for tips, but honestly, we never felt like it was expected. Tip if you want to, but don't stress about it.
  • The rooms are fantastic - clean, spacious, and super comfortable. They come with all the standard amenities, plus some nice extras like a beach bag for your pool days.
    • Every single room here boasts an incredible view, which is awesome. Each balcony has a table and chairs, perfect for chilling out.
    • The walk-in rainforest shower was a pleasant surprise; it's massive and a really nice touch.
    • The mini-bar is stocked daily with water, beer, M&Ms, juice, fruit, and yes, even a bottle of tequila. If you run low, just call down for a refill.
  • There are two main pool areas, each with its own vibe and easy access to multiple bars and quick bites from La Plaza.
    • The golf course side has a long main pool with tons of comfy chaise lounges - ideal for kicking back with a cold drink. You'll find plenty of umbrellas and even some covered cabanas for rent if you want extra shade.
    • The "activity" side is where the fun happens. Think pickleball, two awesome surfing wave areas, a giant kids' playground with water slides, and an "activity" pool that often has a volleyball net set up.
  • The oceanfront areas offer something for everyone. We saw a long pier with lounges, a proper beach area with shaded huts, an activity zone with a volleyball net, cool hammocks actually in the water, and a lively bar right by the sand.
  • While we didn't get a chance to use it, there's a gym that looked really well-equipped with machines and dumbbells. Someone even mentioned they have a Peloton!
  • If you're looking for some extra relaxation, the spa is fantastic. They offer complimentary hydrotherapy (think sauna, dry sauna, cold plunge, and jet massage pool) with any service you book. Tori enjoyed a hydrofacial and said everyone there was super friendly.
  • Entertainment is plentiful day and night. We mainly stuck to relaxing, but we saw ads for live music, fire shows, a silent disco, beach volleyball, and even random food pop-ups. There's always something going on if you're looking for it.

Food & Drink Highlights

Seriously, the food and drinks here were excellent throughout our trip. We couldn't try everything, but here are some notes on our favorites:

  • There's a great cafe on the lobby level that's open all day. It's got a full-service coffee bar, ice cream, and tasty pastries - perfect for a quick grab-and-go or a sweet treat.
  • Himitsu serves up really good Asian food, including fresh, handmade sushi rolls. We didn't snag a Teppanyaki table, but those looked like a blast.
  • La Plaza is a cool outdoor food hall near the pools with different stations like tacos, sushi, burgers, and sweets. The burgers were surprisingly solid!
  • Mi Lucrecia offers delicious Mexican food. We loved everything we tried, especially their fantastic mango margaritas.
  • World Cafe seemed to be the main breakfast spot. It's a huge buffet with tons of hot and cold options, including omelet and smoothie stations, so you can fuel up right.
  • You can also order room service directly from the app. Just a heads up, it usually took between 30-60 minutes to arrive, so plan accordingly.
  • There are bars everywhere - in the lobby, on the rooftop, by the pools, at the ocean, and within the restaurants. Everything was well-stocked, and they even had some great non-alcoholic options like fresh smoothies.
    • Pro-tip: Try a BBC or a Mai Tai by the pool.
    • We saw Dos Equis on tap, but there are plenty of other beer options available.
  • Dress Code: While it's super casual during the day, most of the restaurants technically don't allow men to wear shorts for dinner. This led to me shelling out $70 for linen pants at the gift shop one afternoon (live and learn!). That said, when we actually went to dinner, we saw plenty of people in shorts, so it doesn't seem to be strictly enforced. Just to be safe, besides your wedding attire, it might be a good idea to pack an extra pair of light pants and closed-toe shoes for dinner.
